The series takes its name from Not One Less, a film by Chinese director Zhang Yimou. In the film, a very young teacher discovers that one of her pupils has left school to find work in the city. Unwilling to let the class remain incomplete, she sets out to find him and bring him back. In the same way, this series brings together plates that appear different and seemingly share no common theme. Each has its own identity, yet all are connected and essential: if one is missing, the whole is incomplete.
